2020 Geography Bee

Thursday, January 23, Heartland held their local Geography Bee.  Students from each grade 5, 6, 7, and 8 qualified by scoring in the top of their class bee to compete in the Heartland Bee.  Contestants were:  

5th Grade: Hayden Powers, Zaine Swartzendruber, Emma Ott, David Hiebner, Maddie Janzen

6th Grade: Lane Farrall, Weston Panko, Adi Duerksen, Samuel Friesen, Andrew Onnen

7th Grade: Austin Schmidt, Jacob Buller, Zach Miller, Anna Janzen, Isabel Johnson

8th Grade: Naomi Onnen, Reese Regier, Nicolas Thieszen, Dylan Gage, Jordan Nolan

Congratulations to Nicholas Thieszen for placing 1st, Jacob Buller for placing 2nd and Dylan Gage for placing 3rd. A shout out to all the participants in today’s contest!  

To continue with the Geography Bee process, Nicholas will take an online test to compete against other students across Nebraska to qualify for the state Geography Bee.  The top 100 students from the online geography test will compete in the state competition.  Best of luck, Nicholas!
