HCS Competed at Nebraska Christian Quiz Bowl Tournament
On Monday, January 12, 10 Heartland Community School students participated in the Nebraska Christian Quiz Bowl Competition held at the Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Central City.
The morning consisted of three round-robin matches for each of the two teams. The A team finished the morning with a 2-1 record and entered the afternoon as the 11th seed of the 32 teams. The B team ended the morning with a 0-3 record and was the 26th seed.
Both teams started the single-elimination tournament with a victory. The B team upset the 7th ranked team from Cross County, and the A team defeated the A team from Osceola. Unfortunately, both teams faced tough matches in the second round and were eliminated from the tournament.
The next quiz bowl competition will be on February 11 when the teams will compete in the ESU 6 tournament held in Seward.
