Students To Select Final H&H Bearcats Logo
Final Two Concepts - Illustrated Summary
Students from both Heartland and Hampton will vote on Wednesday, May 14th for the selection of a final brand concept for the H&H Bearcats mascot and logo. Students in grades 6 through 11 will vote on Wednesday morning to choose one final concept from among two different concepts.
The two concepts that students will choose from in their vote were developed by a working group of 8 individuals representing both Heartland and Hampton. The working group began working on the brand concepts in March, and utilized the services of a graphic art / branding firm from Lincoln called UNANIMOUS to work through this process. A variety of exploratory and development meetings took place throughout the process of creating the two brand concepts.
The working group sought out to create a branding suite for the H&H Bearcats logos that was unique from what other schools utilize for their logos while also providing enough convention within the brand to create a classic and long-lasting look. The working group may yet make a few, very minor revisions to some of the assets within the brand suite after the selection of the final concept, but it is now time to decide upon the main mascot/logo depiction for the program.
The link above will take you to a summary that the working group asked UNANIMOUS to develop as a means of illustrating the final two concepts. Within the summary, the two concepts are illustrated and shown in variety of manners and in a variety of contexts. It was important for the working group to examine the look of the brand in both full color and in black and white. It was also important to see examples of the brand concept being used in a few practical applications (i.e. what it might look like on a shirt, on a hat, on a uniform, on a wall, etc.). A number of use cases (examples) are provided within the summary, it is important to note that they are only examples developed by the artists and aren't necessarily reflective of an actual or specific uniform, helmet, etc. that our athletes will wear. The last page of the summary will also allow you to compare the final two concepts with the logos/mascots from a variety of other schools in our area.
Students will vote for the final brand concept on Wednesday, and results of the vote should be available to announce by the end of the day on Wednesday, as well.
