FFA Competed at State Convention
The Heartland FFA competed and participated in the Nebraska State FFA Convention April 3-5. Members who attended state convention had the opportunity to engage in competitions, attend sessions, participate in workshops, help with the courtesy corp, and package food for those less fortunate.
Ben Janzen, Zach Miller, Hayden Powers, and Katrina Epp participated in the State FFA Choir.
Allie Boehr, Andrew Franz, and Ben Janzen received their State FFA degrees, the highest degree that the state can bestow on them.
The food science team consisting of Allie Boehr, Riley Quiring, Grace Splinter, and Faith Hiebner received blue as a team. Grace Splinter received blue individually in the food science competition and Faith Hiebner received a white.
The ag science team consisting of Emma Ott, David Hiebner, Kinsley Friesen, and Hayden Powers received red as a team. Individually, Emma Ott received blue, and David Hiebner, Kinsley Friesen, and Hayden Powers all received red.
The livestock judging team consisted of Kaleb Ostrander, Brayden Ogorzolka, Maddie Janzen, and Miles Kliewer. Individually, Brayden Orgozolka received a red ribbon.
Emma Ott received silver for creed speaking.
Allie Boehr placed 3rd in the Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management proficiency area.
Ben Janzen placed 1st in the Forage Production proficiency area. Ben Janzen was also recognized as a state star finalist for his work in Forage Production.
