Thayer Central Junior High Math Competition
Wednesday, May 5th
Middle School students competed at Thayer Central’s Math Competition. These students took a 40 question individual test, a 15 question group test, and a grade level quiz bowl tournament. Heartland students represented our school and competed very well. Austin Schmidt placed 3rd in the 8th grade individual test. Tara Buzek and Maddie Janzen placed 1st and 5th, respectively, in the 6th grade competition. The 8th grade team of Zach Miller, Brady Goertzen, and Austin Schmidt won the 8th grade quiz bowl tournament while the 6th grade team of Maddie Janzen, Emma Ott, and Tara Buzek place 3rd. In the overall competition, Heartland placed 2nd as a school. Congratulations to the students that competed!
