Heartland Boys' Golf Invites

On April 30 Heartland went to Sutton and scored 407 as a team. Individuals struggled to better their scores.  Ned Goertzen came through with rounds of 46 and 47 ending with a 93 for the varsity low. Cory Gabehart shot 52 both times for a total of 104.  Nick Heinrichs came up with 50 and 52 for a total round of 102.  Cody Steever followed with 2 rounds of 54 for a 108 and Alex Block finished with two scores of 58 for his total of 116.  Shooting for the Junior Varsity Travis Jensen shot a 47 and came back with a 43 for a total of 90 and Lance Hiebner turned in 52 and 50 for a 102.    Sutton Golf Invite

Thayer Central Invite May 9th Heartland Golfers went to Thayer Central. Cory Gabehart unleashed the “Big Dawgs” for a first round of 44 and then dropped four strokes for a 40 coming up with his season best of 84, one stroke behind medalist. Alex Block had a 45 and a 49 for a total of 94 his season best. Nick Heinrichs was just behind with a 49 and a 47 for a 96. Travis Jensen 49 and a 54 for a 103 and then Lance Hiebner finished with a 104 starting with a round of 50 and finishing with a 54. The team total hit an all time low with a 377, finishing ahead of Red Cloud and Deschler. Coaches are anticipating exciting results at districts on May 14 at Lochland Golf Course in Hastings.


May 1st saw the Heartland Golfers at Friend where they placed sixth in a field of eight, bettering their previous team score with a 387.   Ned Goertzen and Alex Block came up with two great rounds of 92 to lead the way with Cory Gabehart following with an even 100.  Nick Heinrichs
followed with a 103 and Cody Steever with a 107.  Coaches were pleased to see the continued improvement and lowering of team scores.
