HEARTLAND FBLA MEMBERS WIN THREE NATIONAL AWARDS
The Heartland Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, for the National Leadership Conference from June 28 to July 3. Brandon Rader, Jessica Luethje, Lauren Klute, Lauren Braun, and Amanda Wall along with adviser Kristy Most enjoyed the weeklong conference activities. The group stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.
Amanda Wall placed second in Word Processing I. She competed against approximately 100 other FBLA members from across the United States.
Brandon Rader placed ninth in the Entrepreneurship Team event. He competed as a team with Kara Brown from Gretna and Meredith Smith from Johnson-Brock. This is Brandon's third appearance at a national convention, as he placed sixth in Business Law in 2005 and competed in Accounting I in 2004.
Lauren Klute placed ninth in Accounting I. This is Lauren's second appearance at a national convention as she placed third in Word Processing I in 2005.
Also competing at Nationals were Jessica Luethje in Banking and Financial Systems and Lauren Braun in Business Math.
The state of Nebraska was represented very well during the National Awards Program. Nebraska won 24 national awards including 3 national champions.
Other activities the group enjoyed during the week were: General Jackson Showboat Dinner Cruise, tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Ryman Auditorium, and dinner and bowling at Dave and Busters.
