Junior High Boys Basketball 2024

Heartland's Junior High Boys Basketball Team had their first game on Saturday, January 6, during winter break. Following that start, snowstorms created elusive weeks of practice and games. In fact, an additional week of play was added to the season for rescheduled games.

This year's team is comprised of 18 players who typically play in "A" and "B" games. The team is coached by John Salisbury and Tony Rice. This is their second year of coaching together.

Checking in with Coach Salisbury, he noted that the strengths of this year's team include unity, supporting each other, aggressiveness during the games, and positive attitudes.

Skills that the team are working on include developing more offenses, scoring, fewer turnovers, and greater aggressiveness in the lane.

"Our focus is fundamentals execution and never giving up. Coach Rice and I are focused on building a championship program in attitude and behavior first."

The team will play at Centennial on Thursday and at home on Saturday.
