Trumpet Day at UNL
Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16 Timberly Carr and Reagan Weisheit attended "Trumpet Day" at UNL. High school trumpet players sent in audition tapes to march and perform with the Cornhusker Marching Band. Timberly and Reagan practiced Friday and Saturday, then marched and performed with the Cornhusker Marching Band for the band's halftime show. In addition to Timberly and Reagan, regular members of the Cornhusker Marching Band are Junior Kaitlyn Quiring and Freshman Mark Perez Jr., trumpet players from Heartland. The halftime show featured selections made famous by outstanding trumpet players such as Chuck Mangione and Chase.
