Golf Marathon
Heartland participated in three meets during the week of April
28 through May 2. On April 28, golfers played at Fox Hollow in
Sutton. The team finished fourth of eleven teams with a 367.
Medaling for Heartland was Jesse Nissen with an 85 for fourth
place, and Gory Gabehart was close behind with an 87 for eighth
place. Other scores were Spencer Friesen 97, Tavis Koehn 100 and
Lance Hiebner 103.
On Thursday, May 1, the Junior Varsity
competed in two-man scramble at the Superior Country Club.
Receiving third place medals was the team of Spencer Friesen and
Tavis Koehn, shooting 44. Caleb Epp and Connor Hiebner teamed up to
shoot 51, Luke Fochtman and Tanner Steingard came through with 54,
and the team of Jordan Hiebner and Kirk Smith finished with 59.
The Southern Nebraska Conference was May 2
at the Hebron Country Club. Heartland finished sixth out of nine
schools with a 364. Medaling was Jesse Nissen who shot an 85 for
third place. Lance Hiebner tied for ninth place but lost out on a
medal in the playoffs. Cory Gabehart was right
there with a 89. Nick Heinrichs shot 102 and Tavis Koehn finished
the day with 107. District Golf will be on May 12 at the York
Country Club.
