Heartland Girls Win D-6 District Track Meet

The Heartland Boys and Girls Track Teams competed in the D-6 District Track Meet in Kenesaw on Wednesday, May 8. With a score of 110 points, the Huskie Girls earned first place and became district champions!  The boys also did well by placing fifth out of 12 teams with a score of 46 points.  Many Heartland athletes qualified for the Nebraska State Track Meet which will be held on May 17 and 18 for Class . . .

HCS Students Awarded NSAA Academic All-State

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the student recipients of the Spring 2024 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Creighton Friesen Sets School Golf Records

Heartland Junior Creighton Friesen had a great day of golf on Tuesday in Sutton.  He tied the nine hole record twice with a 35 and broke the 18 hole record with a 70. Congratulations!

Heartland Holds Academic Signing Day

In 2017, Heartland Community Schools held the first Academic Letter of Intent ceremony for students who excel in the classroom. The criteria for recognition is that the student accepts a scholarship from the college they will attend that is specifically awarded for academic achievement. Third Graders Visited Hastings Museum

The Heartland third graders enjoyed a field trip to the Hastings Museum on Wednesday, April 24. They learned about Edwin Perkins and how he made Kool-Aid successful. The students played a true/false game about him and even make their own Kool-Aid to take home.  Exploring extinct sea creatures and fossils was another aspect of the trip. Heartland Students Excel at District Music Contest

The Heartland Band and Choir students performed at the 2024 District Music Contest on April 18 and 19 in Milford.  Thursday held the vocal performances, and Friday was band selections.  The students excelled both days with all performances from Heartland receiving a rating of one or two.  Full results from the contest can be found here:  https://tinyurl.com/3nfsyx8c

FFA Competed at State Convention

The Heartland FFA competed and participated in the Nebraska State FFA Convention April 3-5. Members who attended state convention had the opportunity to engage in competitions, attend sessions, participate in workshops, help with the courtesy corp, and package food for those less fortunate. National Honor Society Induction Night

On Monday, April 8, the Heartland National Honor Society held their induction ceremony.  Twenty-five sophomores joined the chapter, and 11 seniors were honored with their gold cords for graduation. HCS FBLA Attends State Conference

Twenty-nine Heartland FBLA members attended the Nebraska State Leadership Conference in Kearney on April 11-13. Children's Book Author Visits Preschool

The Heartland preschoolers had a special visit this week from children's book author Tammy Stuhr. Tammy read her book, "Jax Dreams of Heaven," to the class with interaction from the students.
