NPPD and Perennial Power Visit Heartland
On Tuesday, October 12 NPPD and Perennial Power gave Heartland students a glimpse of the wide variety of jobs available in the production of energy. Kim Liebig, NPPD Outreach Specialist and Mick Northrop from Perennial visited with Mrs. Koehler's 8th grade Careers class and Mr. Blomendahl's Leadership class. In addition to introducing them to careers that are in demand, they also encouraged students to graduate from high school, but also get a college degree. They also discussed attributes that employers look for in an employee such as a positive attitude and teamwork skills. Toward the end of the presentation, the students got to see a Perennial bucket truck demonstration and visit with two linemen about their jobs.
