August 01, 2009
On August 28, Superior hosted their invite at the Superior Country Club. Excellent weather conditions contributed to the Huskie's first win. Taking to the course, senior, Brittany Ratzlaff set a personal record with her 18 hole finish of 106. Her front nine was a 56 and the back, another personal record, was 50. These scores were good enough to give her third place individually. Teammate, junior, Andrea Boardman also set personal records with her 18 hole finish of 112 and her front and back nines of 56. Her scores gave her a sixth place finish. Carlie Weisheit, junior, came in strong with a front nine of 57 and a back nine of 61 to tie for eighth place with a final of 118. Jennifer Yoder, sophomore, also tied for eighth place with a score of 118 matching her personal record. Her front nine started with 55 and she ended her back nine with 63. These scores combined for 454 giving the Huskies first place, their first trophy and first win. Coach Adams said, "The Huskie golfers are off to a fine start with their first win and setting a few personal records. Jim Mestl and I look forward to seeing continued improvement throughout the season."
