Middle School Students Complete Earth Day Project in Bradshaw

Heartland middle school students spent Earth Day painting house numbers on curbs in Bradshaw and picking up limbs as a community service project.  The 7th & 8th graders spent several days prior to Earth Day researching house numbers on a Bradshaw map and cutting stencils of each house number to prepare for painting the house numbers on the curbs in town.  They were divided into groups of 3 or 4 students and along with their adult sponsor they painted the curbs first with a white background, then returned to paint the house numbers in black.  The 6th grade repainted the park benches and filled 3 pickup loads with limbs and debris from yards in town.  After the work was done they had time for a game of kickball at the ball field.  Mr. Carr and the homeroom teachers thought the students' work ethic was outstanding and praised their helpful attitudes.  Special thanks goes out to Carrie Regier for planning and organizing the curb painting project and to the following adult volunteers who spent their afternoon sponsoring the painters: Mary Boardman, Mary Scott, J. Epp, Pam Friesen, Tammy Ott and Jo Larsen.
