Norma Ross Walter Scholarship: Sponsored by The Willa Cather Foundation: Graduating female senior who plans to study English at an accredited college/university. Based on intellectual promise, creativity and character. Deadline: Jan. 31. https://www.willacather.org/learn/scholarships.

Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship: Go to www.FFA.org/scholarships to apply. Open Nov. 15 - Feb. 1, 2017. Plan to pursue a degree or certification in specific areas of agriculture or chemical/ electrical/mechanical engineering. 

ThKearney Law Opportunities Program (KLOP) is a new, collaborative partnership between the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the University of Nebraska College of Law.  It is designed for students with a 27 or higher ACT and/or 3.50 or higher grade point average. Deadline: Jan. 20.

Warren & Velda Wilson Foundation Scholarships: Must plan to attend a Nebraska college or university and be involved in school, church & community activities. Deadline: Jan. 30.


Susan T. Buffett Scholarships: Must plan to attend a Nebraska public institution and must meet financial eligibility guidelines. Get started early!  http://buffettscholarships.org/college-scholarships. Deadline: Feb. 1!!


The Seward, York & Aurora Antique Tractor Club is offering a scholarship to a student planning to pursue an agriculture-related field of study. Check you email for the application form. Deadline: Feb. 1.

Elks National Foundation Scholarship - $4,000 - 250 awards. http://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/Legacy.cfm  For the 2017 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk is eligible to apply. Deadline: Feb. 3.

NRSCA (Nebraska Rural Community School Association Scholarships: scholarships available: 1)  2017 NRCSA Scholarships: must be planning to major in the field of education - only one male and one female application can be submitted per school, 2) 2017 Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship: must be planning to major in the fine arts - only one application can be submitted per school. Submit applications to me by Feb. 3 so if we have more applicants than we can send in we have time to decide on our applicant to send in by Feb. 10. 

Cabela's Women in Leadership Scholarship: These scholarships will be awarded to female seniors graduating from a Nebraska High School in the spring of 2017. Application will be available Dec. 1 - Feb. 6 at www.thehugefoundation.org.

Phi Delta Kappa Legacy Scholarship: Must have a parent, guardian or grandparent who is a member of Phi Delta Kappa. Check you email for a link to the application. Deadline: Feb. 15.
Blue Valley Community Action Scholarships: Must meet income guidelines, essay required, deadline: Feb. 17.
Nebraska Press Association Scholarship: Scholarships are $2000 each - preference will be given to students who will be pursuing newspaper journalism education at a Nebraska university or college. A PDF of this application is also available at www.nebpress.com. Deadline: Feb. 17
CENTRAL NEBRASKA SENIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION: Must have excelled at the game of golf. Deadline: March 1.
Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship: Applicants must be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of Department of Nebraska, The American Legion or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current Legion member at time of death. Winsor Tucker Scholarship: Must be in the top 15% of the class and have a 27 or higher on the ACT. Deadline: March 2.
PEO Scholarship: York County girl, must have a 3.0 GPA to apply. Deadline: March 6.
Hamilton Community Foundation: Must reside in Hamilton County. Find a link to the scholarships at ww.hcfne.org. Due March 10.
Better Business Bureau Scholarships: These scholarships are not based on ethnicity, need or grade point average, but recognize students who exemplify ethical behavior and personal integrity - humility, courage, compassion and respect for their peers, teachers and community—BBB’s values. To apply go to: http://bbb.org/h/mqf Deadline: March 10.
Nebraska Czechs of York: Selection will also be based upon high morals, character, academics (80% average or above), leadership and community involvement. 3 letters of recommendation required. Deadline: March 10.
CVA Scholarship: The first consideration of the applicant is that the parents or guardian of the applicant is a current stockholder of Central Valley Ag, or one of the parents or guardians is an employee of Central Valley Ag. Indendent Insurance Agents of Nebraska: Selection of the scholarship winner will be based on scholastic application, as well as participation and leadership in school and community activities, and educational goals.  Applicants must be a Nebraska resident enrolled as a full-time student and at least a second semester college sophomore or junior at an accredited post-secondary institution located in Nebraska.  Applicants must be a business major with a preference for an insurance-related field. Deadline: March 17.
James M. Cox Scholarship: $1,000, must demonstrate financial need. Deadline: April 17.
