Acacia Fraternity (UNL) offers scholarships to males who display motivation for personal success, an interest in developing and applying
leadership skills and plan to attend UNL next fall. These scholarships are not dependent on membership in the fraternity. Deadline Jan. 31, 2015. 

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship: Enrollment begins Oct. 15, deadline is Feb. 1. Find out more at: https://us.axa.com/axa-foundation/community-scholarships.html. 

The Nebraska Grain Sorghum Producers Association is offering a scholarship for students planning to enter an agriculture-related field of study. Deadline: Feb. 1.

Nebraska Wesleyan University has launched Access NWU, a full-tuition program that provides additional means for students with high financial need to pursue a quality education at Nebraska Wesleyan. Students who meet these financial and educational qualifications will receive scholarships equal to the cost of
tuition after state and federal grants have been applied. Must have an ACT minimum score of 25. 

The Great Plains Association of College Admission Counselors (GPACAC) awards three $1,000 scholarships to students in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma, each year.  Go to http://www.gpacac.net/scholarships to view qualifications for each. Deadlines begin February 1.

The Susan T. Buffett Foundation provides scholarships that can be used to cover expenses related to attending college (e.g. tuition and fees, housing, books). The amount of the scholarship varies by institution but is typically equal to the average cost of tuition and fees for a full-time student (15 credits) at that institution. For example, the maximum 2014-15 scholarship amount was $4,250 per semester at the University of Nebraska schools. There are income qualifications students & families must meet. You can apply for this scholarship between November 1, 2014 and February 1, 2015. Cornerstone Bank is offering a Careers in Ag Day scholarship. Must attend a NE college in an agriculture-related field and have attended Careers in Ag Day during their senior year. Deadline: Feb. 2. 

Blue Valley Community Action (BVCA) Partnership scholarships are available. One is for students planning to attend a 2-year school, one is for students planning to attend a 4-year school.  Must meet income guidelines. Go to www.bvca.org to access the application. Deadline: Feb. 2.

Students who plan to attend a college or university in Nebraska can apply for the Warren & Velda Wilson Foundation Scholarship. This $1,250 scholarship requires an essay and 2 letters of recommendation. The application was emailed to HCS seniors and need to be returned to Mrs. Koehler by February 5, 2015.

York Chamber of Commerce Scholarship: Must be employed at a Chamber of Commerce member business. Deadline: Feb. 13.

York Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Scholarship:  Must plan to pursue an ag-related field of study. Deadline: Feb. 13.

The Grand Island Concert Association is offering a $750 scholarship to seniors who have an interest in and have participated in music and/or theater. Deadline: Feb. 15.

NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) scholarships: two $500 scholarships will be awarded with preference given to applicants who plan to enter the fields of: education, business, management, finance, marketing, sales, or actuarial science at a Nebraska college. Deadline: Feb. 15.

Central Community College has a wide variety of scholarships available to eligible students. Must have applied for admission. Go to www.cccneb.edu/financialaid to view all scholarships. Deadlines start Feb. 17.

The Nebraska Press Association Foundation is offering scholarships to students planning to pursue a degree in print/newspaper journalism at a Nebraska College. Postmark deadline: Feb. 20.

Southeast Community College (SCC) Educational Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors to be applied toward the cost of tuition when a student enrolls full time in a degree or diploma program at SCC. Transcript must also be sent. Apply online only at:  https://scc.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com. Deadline Feb. 22, 2015.

Buick Achievers Scholarship: for College Bound and Community-Minded students. Must plan to enroll at a 4 year college in one of the following areas: engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry. Deadline: February 27.  www.buickachievers.com

Titan Machinery is offering a diesel technology sponsorship program at Central Community College. The sponsorship covers tuition & other costs. Deadline: March 1.

Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association is offering a $500-$1000 scholarship to students who have been involved in golf. Must write a short essay and provide two letters of recommendation. Deadline: March 1.

Cornerstone Bank: offered to a graduating senior of HCS. Application and interview required. Deadline: March 1.

Winsor Tucker Scholarship: Awarded through the York Community Foundation. Must have a 27 or higher on the ACT and be in the top 15% of graduating class. Deadline: March 4.

Maynard Jensen American Legion Scholarship: Applicant must be veteran connected, have financial need, academic achievement and participate in extra-curricular activities. Deadline: March 1, 2015.  http://www.nebraskalegion.net/Programs/2015_Maynard_Jensen_Application.pdf

York P.E.O. Scholarship: For females only, 3 $500 scholarships will be awarded, requires 2 letters of recommendation, due March 6.

Better Business Bureau offers scholarships to graduating seniors with criteria based primarily on ethical
behavior, personal integrity, humility, courage, compassion and respect for others. Applications may be
obtained at http://bbb.org/h/mqf Deadline: March 6, 2015.

Cabela’s Women in Leadership Scholarship – This $2,500 renewable scholarship is available to senior females.
A GPA of 3.0 must be maintained to renew. Many criteria evaluated including GPA, test scores and class rank,
as well as leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, work experience, honors and awards, etc. Application
available online at www.thehugefoundation.org. Deadline is March 7, 2015.
Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarships: Must attend school or live in Hamilton County.  Access full list of scholarships at www.hcfne.org. Deadline: March 15.

The Nebraska Society of Mayflower Decendants are offering the Burt & Becky Whedon Memorial Scholarship. GPA, ACT scores, honors & involvement will be considered as well as a written essay. Deadline: March 31.  

The Nebraska Legal Professionals Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a Nebraska student entering a law-related undergraduate program including paralegal, legal secretarial, criminal justice or any law-related field.  Deadline: March 31.

Educationquest Scavenger Hunt Scholarship: You can win one of 3 $500 scholarships from Educationquest! Go to www.educationquest.org and click on Scavenger Hunt Scholarship to get started. Deadline: March 31, 2015.

Southern Power District is offering a $1,000 scholarship to students planning on entering a program of study in the utlity line industry. Must reside in Hamilton, Adams, Franklin, Hall, Kearney, Merrick or Phelps County. Deadline: April 1.

Henderson State Bank scholarship: To be eligible, students must be in the top 50% of their class and plan to enter a field employable in a rural community. Deadline: April 8.

James M. Cox Scholarship: Must complete the FAFSA and provide letters of recommendation and an essay. Based primarily on financial need. Deadline: April 15.

Nebraska Coaches Association Scholarship: Criteria:  1) Upper 25% of class –OR-3.75 Cumulative GPA, 2) Must be at least a 2 year participant in 2 sports, 3) Must have earned varsity letter in 2 sports, 4) Must include at least one letter of recommendation from a high school coach, 5) ACT minimum score of 24. Deadline: April 17.
