The Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association is offering scholarships from $500-$1,000 to seniors who have been members of the golf team. Deadline: March 1.
The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska are offering a $1,000 scholarship to a Nebraska senior. Criteria for selection includes academic achievement, leadership, activities and educational goals. Deadline: March 1.
Central Community College is offering the ACT Advantage Scholarship (composite of 21 or higher and a minimum of 2.5 GPA) and Compass Advantage Scholarship. You must have submitted an application for admission for 2014-15 academic year to qualify. Deadline is Feb. 14, 2014, for these two scholarships; however, funds are limited so early application is encouraged. Scholarships may be used at any of the CCC campuses. There is also a “general scholarship” located at www.cccneb.edu/financialaid Deadline is March 1, 2014.
Female graduates of a York County school can apply for the York PEO Scholarship. Must have a B average and have financial need. Deadline: March 4.
The DJ's Hero Awards scholarship looks to honor the "unsung hero" who has overcome adversity and demonstrated leadership and commitment in his/her community. Application form is available online at www.givesalvaionarmy.org. Deadline: March 5.
The York Elks Lodge is offering a scholarship to a York area senior. Criteria for the scholarship includes academics, activities and leadership, and financial need. Deadline: March 7.
The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship application ($500) is available to York County Youth (male or female) who plan to attend college at a Nebraska institution. Deadline: March 7.
The Better Business Bureau is offering 2014 Scott Mecham Student of Integrity Awards. Eight students will each be granted $2,000 scholarships. Deadline: March 7.
York General Health Care Services is offering a scholarship to York County seniors who plan to enter a health care field. Preference shall be given to YGHCS, York Surgical Associates and York Medical Clinic employees or their immediate families. Deadline: March 7.
York Business Women’s Scholarship: It is for $400. Any York County senior, boys or girls, who rank in the upper half of their class can apply. Need 2 letters of recommendation. Deadline is March 12.
Seniors who live in Hamilton County can apply for the Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarships. Go towww.hcfne.org to view the application and for more info. Deadline: March 14.
Applications are available for the Mildred Sterner Baker scholarship. Eligibility is based on character, church and religious interest and ambition, and high scholastic standing shall not be necessary, but should have a sincere desire for higher learning. Deadline: March 14.
The Grand Island Concert Association is sponsoring scholarships to seniors who will be selecting a major or minor in music or technical theater. The deadline is March 15, 2014.
Applications are available for the Upper Big Blue NRD Scholarship. Must plan to enroll in a course of study leading to a degree in a natural resources related field. Deadline: March 21.
Apply for EducationQuest's Scavenger Hunt scholarship! Students in grades 9-12 can apply for a $500 scholarship by completing a scavenger hunt on EducationQuest's website: www.educationquest.org. Deadline: March 31.
The Conestoga Mall Community Service Scholarship is open to 2014 high school graduating seniors. Who maintain high scholastic level as deemed within their capability while participating in activities dedicated to improving the quality of life in their school and community. Must be postmarked between March 1 – 31.
Nebraska Legal Professionals Association: Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in paralegal, legal secretarial, criminal justice, or a law-related undergraduate program. Deadline: March 31.
Cornerstone Bank is offering a scholarship to a Heartland graduate. Employees and immediate family members are ineligible. Applicants will be interviewed. Deadline: April 1.
Applications are available for the Lincoln Builders Bureau Scholarship. Applicants must be an employee of a Lincoln Builders Bureau member company, or the dependent of an employee AND enroll in an area of study related to Construction Science. Deadline: April 1.
Henderson State Bank is offering a scholarship to a HCS graduate. Must be in the top 50% of the class and plan to enroll in a field of study employable in a rural community. Deadline: April 9.
Alpha Delta Kappa, a professional teaching organization, is offering a $100 scholarship to an area graduate who plans to enter the teaching profession. Deadline: April 10.
The High Plains Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association are offering a $500 scholarship for a student who plans to pursue a career in the physical sciences. There are also stipulations on where this student will attend college. Deadline: April 15.
The James Cox Foundation offers $1,000 scholarships to to Nebraska graduates. The Foundation gives special consideration to needy students residing in Hamilton and York Counties and families who are supporting more than one child in higher education pursuits. Deadline: April 15.
