FFA State Equine Competition

On May 24, three of the Heartland FFA members, Wynema Stracener, Rachael Dente, and Tanner Bottorf, traveled to Northeast Community College in Norfolk to compete in the State Equine Competition. The competition involved judging, answering questions, and giving oral reasons over a series of haltered and moving horses. The team earned a total of 6 ribbons and 2 plaques with Wynema Stracener placing first in individual reasons, second in Individual Overall Performance, and earning a red ribbon in Individual Overall Halter. Rachael Dente placed first in Individual Overall Halter and earned 2 white ribbons in Individual Overall Performance and Individual Reasons. Tanner Bottorf placed 37th out of 45 participants in Individual Overall Performance. The team placed 8th overall out of 17 teams.
