FBLA Members Attend Fall Leadership Conference in Lincoln

The Nebraska FBLA Fall Leadership Conference was held September 28 in Lincoln.  This conference was a one-day workshop for FBLA officers and members.  This year’s state theme is “Legacy of Leadership.”

The state officers shared the 2016-17 state goals, a video of the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta this past summer and a skit about FBLA’s business dress code during the Opening General Session.  The keynote speaker was Josh Erickson.  His presentation was titled, “If You’re Not Leading Today, You’re Not Leading Tomorrow.”  He encouraged members to be intentional about taking an active leadership role.  Following the general session, the officers and members attended the following workshops:  5½ C’s to Relationships; The Art of Communication—Leaving a Legacy; To Infinity and Beyond—Launch into Social Tech; Programming Your Chapter; Do You Have What It Takes?; Building a Legacy with the Nebraska FBLA Foundation; Set Your Project Up for Success!!; and Strengths-Based Leadership.

The following officers and members attended the conference:  President Leslie Braun, Vice President Brooke Weisheit, Secretary Isabelle Vanderneck, Treasurer Aaron Buller, News Reporter Brittany Quiring, Historian Sadie Carr, Committee Representative Colton Monnier, Members Ellie Steingard, Allison Kroeker, Odessa Ohrt and Adviser Kristy Most.
