Junior high students are celebrating Earth Day by encouraging recycling, particularly plastic recycling, and spreading awareness about refusing plastic when offered to you. Students are collecting plastic bags until April 21 and will take them to be recycled. Students are learning that while recycling plastic is a good thing, refusing plastic in the first place is a more sustainable solution. Bring your own reusable items such as water bottles and utensils, and say "no thanks" to a straw. Small changes can make a big difference.

Please bring any extra plastic bags you may have to the school and the junior high students will see to it that they are recycled!
