Heartland Art Students Paint Husky Mural

Art students from Heartland Community Schools painted a mural at the local Food Mart in Henderson, Nebraska. The mural is of a Husky dog to represent the school within the community. This mural was painted by many students. They used oil based enamel paints and lots of creativity that was inspired by their art teacher, Britany Renz, who got the students involved in this project. Britany Renz has been the art teacher at Heartland Community Schools for a total of six years now.

"I'm proud of seeing how well the students came together to finish this artwork. Even though I sent them back time and time again to make corrections, because I am very picky, they never complained they just did as they were asked to do” stated Renz.

Students also seemed to have a positive experience with this mural as well. Darien Chase, a Senior at Heartland Community Schools, who was also involved with the painting of this mural commented on the fine products that they were given to work with. "I like working with oil based paints because it's way more smooth to work with" said Chase.

This mural was a success and is now finished and can be admired by many people in the community. This just goes to show that schools can become involved and help their community and  make a difference if they take the time to give a helping hand.
