Heartland FBLA members attend Fall Leadership Conference

FBLA members at Fall Leadership Conference in Kearney

The Nebraska FBLA Fall Leadership Conference was held September 25 in Kearney.  This conference was a one-day workshop for FBLA officers and members.  The FBLA state officers shared information on various activities and state goals.  This year's state theme is "Igniting Innovation."

The 2012-13 Nebraska FBLA goals are:  SERVICE - Tally it Up to 8 hours per member of community service and contribute to Feed Nebraska, the Nebraska FBLA Foundation and March of Dimes; HONOR - promote FBLA scholarships and increase participation in the All-State Quality Member Award; INVOLVEMENT - increase membership by 3 per chapter, participate in the Go Green Challenge and publicize FBLA through FBLA Week; NETWORK - utilize social media communication through Facebook and Twitter; EDUCATION - implement a weekly state officer blog and ignite member participation in Money Smart Week.

The keynote speaker at the general session was Patrick George.  His presentation was titled, "I Challenge You."  He challenged members to set high goals, overcome obstacles and be ready to achieve greatness.  Following the general session, the officers and members attended individual workshops.

The following officers and members attended the conference:  President Ashley Quiring, Vice President Allison Braun, Secretary Janelle Huebert, Treasurer Bailey Carr, News Reporter Aubrey DeBraal, Historian Colton Siebert, Committee Rep Kaitlyn Quiring, Bailey Monnier, Owen Wurst and Adviser Kristy Most.
