TECHS Final Projects for 2008-09 School Year

The TECHS team consisting of Whitney, Daniel, Caleb, and Nicholas has wrapped up a successful year. They built a computer back in February, since then the team has created a TECHS home page. This web page was created in a new program called Word Press. The main difference between this and other web pages is the viewer may blog about any of the special pages highlighting the projects created by this school year TECHS team. The team earned honors in having the best tutorial help page using a program called Jing. We hope to add to this next year with more helpful tutorials. These tutorials may be found on the web page labeled Jing Projects.

The TECHS team also earned honors for both of their enhanced podcasts. Each member read material for both podcasts but then split up into teams to complete the video podcast. One of the podcasts promotes our school and why students may want to attend in the future. The other promotes the Heritage Park and will be shared with the city to be used as a promotional video. The final project for the year is to create the Class of 2009 slide show for commencement on May 17, 2009. The members used iMovie, iTunes, and Macromedia Fireworks in producing editing the final product.

For participating in these and winning honors, the school was given a Pinnacle Video Transfer component worth $100 and an iLogic bean chair for listening to their podcasts. The only problem is the bean chair is too large for Ms. Thomas' small office. A better location will have to be found for next year's TECHS team members. Congratulations to the TECH members and thanks for a great year. Each member received a TECHS t-shirt also.
