Heartland Competes at York County Spelling Bee
Ashley Quiring took top honors in Division III at the York County Spelling Bee. She will compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Omaha. She will also compete in district competition in Seward with Janelle Huebert who placed third in the contest. Aubrey DeBraal placed fifth and is the alternate for competing in district competition. Also competing for Heartland was Maelyn Huebert. Justin Foster was the alternate in the 7th-8th Grade Division.
Competing for Heartland for Division II were Kaitlyn Quiring who placed 6th, Colton Siebert, and Haley Huebert. Eve Vanderneck was the alternate.
Carlos Maldonado placed second in Division I. Ethan Hall placed 9th, Mark Perez placed 10th and Kristine Goertzen placed 11th. The alternate for grades 3 and 4 was Brittany Quiring.
