Inventions and Simple Machines
by Diane Crouch
Lever, wedge, screw, wheel and axle, pulley, and, umm… umm… inclined plane!!! There, I named all of the six simple machines.
The third grade class has been making machines at home. They started building them on March 4, 2008 and had them finished and to school by April 8, 2008. You are invited to come see their inventions at The Invention Convention on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 2:40-3:15 in the cafeteria.
Each of the third graders inventions has at least one of the simple machines. The person who is presenting their machine to you at the Convention will need to include the name of their machine, the materials used, and the simple machine(s) used. They will explain how to make their machine, the purpose of their machine, and how it works. We hope to see you there!
