2007-2008 Believers & Achievers
Heartland Community Schools student Lauren Klute has been selected as one of forty-eight students in the states as a member of the Believers & Achievers Award sponsored by the NSAA (Nebraska School Activities Association) and the U.S. Bank. She is the first student from Heartland High School to receive this award. This recognition is given to Nebraska students that show commitment to good citizenship and involvement in school and community projects.
Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 and participate in NSAA sponsored activities. Students are also required to write a Citizenship Essay on what they have learned from participating in school and community service projects.
All 48 students will be honored at an NSAA state championship event and at an end-of-the-year banquet in Lincoln, where they will announce nine winners of a $500 scholarship from U.S. Bank. The pictures and profiles of six Believers & Achievers will be featured monthly in the NSAA Bulletin.
